This sounds wonderful! And I was never a 'beans during summer' person until I lived in Italy and my then Italian boyfriend rightly pointed out to me that eating beans in summer made a lot of sense since that is when fresh beans like borlotti for example were in fact in season. I could still not entirely wrap my head around how he could happily eat steaming bowls of soupy pasta e fagioli or pasta e cici in the 40C August heat but it result in me happily embracing a bowl of brothy beans, more lukewarm than steaming and some crusty bread on the side anytime of the year.
